Salutations

Welcome to my blog. I can't exactly say what I will be writing on this blog, as right now I'm not so sure what it will feature. For my first post I would like to explain the title of both my blog and this post. The first reason I chose this word, was because it was the first name that came into my head that seemed fitting for this blog. After checking my understanding of the meaning, I thought it even more appropriate for  a blog that, may or may not be read and that has yet to decide upon its purpose. It is merely announcing itself. So why did I think the meaning of this word was fitting, well first you must read what I read and then I will explain.

Salutation - noun. a gesture or utterance made as a greeting or acknowledgment ofanother's arrival or departure : we greeted them but no one returned our salutations | he raised his glass in salutation. a standard formula of words used in a letter to address the person being written to.

Blogging is a very impersonal method of communication with the rest of the world and often offers no greeting to its readers; whom are, for the most part, strangers to the writer. I felt that offering my salutations to whomever reads my blog each and every time they read it, would signal both my respect for those giving my words their time of day and my gratitude for those who thought it good enough to return.

So please, take this first post as my raising a glass in salutations to you; my reader.
